Hi all!,

just joined the world of M42 ownership with a 1990 318is...

i;m planning to change the timing chain tensiioner in the next few days as its a bit noisy when cold, can anyone help me with the torque setting for the new one?..

Just pop it before you put it in and ignore the timing cover shenanigans.
While some warn it is difficult, it is not.

I have done it several times as has Bmwman91 and others.

^^^I've done it too. I must be a weakling, because I had to move the washer reservoir so I could achieve the leverage to push it in and thread the cover at the same time.
