Howdy all!
My name's Andy and I bought a 318is this evening! This is my second e30 next to my Zinnoberrot 89 325i. It's Dimond Black Metallic, with Grey CLOTH sport enterior. It has some dash cracks and a broken light and no ellipsoids so I'll be swapping some parts off my 325 for this one.
But anyway, the moral of the story is that the clearcoat is peeling and I want to know if I color wax it will it look terriable? Or should I just pay to have it done? What am I looking at as far as price? Can I do the clearcoat alone?
thanks everybody and I feel welcome already:)

Ive never color waxed, but more than any other BMW color, DSM needs clearcoat to really look its best. When I got my car, the paint was oxidized and the clearcoat was baked off... a respray worked wonders!

I'd have it looked at by a painter or someone that knows paint. If the clear is flaking as opposed to just wearing away, it has probably been repainted. Sometimes it will be only selected panels.

Wait...really? Damn I can do that. Where did you get it done? Can you hook that up? I would TOTALLY be up there with my M-Tech II kit...
