Smileys VS Angel Eyes VS Ellipsoids

Alright.  Ellipsoid means any headlight that has a projector...the little glass ball looking thing in the middle of the headlight that the light is projected from.  The three pictures I posted above all have ellipsoid headlights.  The first and second picture has ellipsoid fog lights, you can sort of see the projector in the third picture.

For looks and ligthing power.

Pity they can be o frickin expensive:(

I like the bonnet in that fisrt pic. Does it hinge from the back so or what.

just for the record, my H1/H4 lights are wayyyyy better then the old US elips I had. the lenses were old, so that may have been part of the problem. Smileys have even better output than the H1/H4 though.

I love my U.S. Elips with HID's... The light output is much better than my old Euro Smiley's

The real advantage Hella E-codes have over the ellipsoids is that it keeps quite strong light even when a lot of dirt stays on the glass....

The elipsoids needs to be kept clean all the time, because the light is focused in the center of the glass and the dirt makes them loose light very fast. It is enough to clean just the 3cm radius in the center of the glass to get the 100% light back on the road :-) Elipsoids are especially iritating in the winter while driving in the back of the other cars on the wet/salty surface.

Also differ bosch elipsoids from hella's... Bosch makes mirrors on the iron surface while hella produces plastic ones. The first stays stable even equipped with H1/100W and the second melts down because of the temperature, and it can break this fantastic light transfer down...

Smiley's only came in ellipsoids, but I'm sure that's what you meant anyways.  ;)

Best deal around.

Second best deal.

I had a set of Hellas and switched to the fluted autopals after the hellas got dinged up. The light output from the autopals is just as good. Now I have a set of complex surface reflector lights (second link) on order with 90/100 white blubs. Everything else is just bling.
