Yeah, I did almost the same thing except it was really wet and the tires on the car were just junkyard tires the previous owner threw on the car before the sale. Sitting at a light, left hand turn, old clutch decided to grab on my 2nd gear shift, rear end kicked out, guy in a hurry in the lane on the outside (I was in the inside turn lane), no where to go, countersteered to avoid slapping the side of the guy next to me, and inevitably smashed the front left wheel on the curb. The wheel was absolute toast and the tire lost all air instantly. I actually used the tire on my spare. But in my own good manner, to recap: oddly my right tie rod bent on the wheel side, there was play in the wheel when raised, and it has taken now 4 months for me to finally buy parts to have it fixed. Inspect it and make it an excuse to replace wear items. If you have any front end play or if the car doesn't track perfectly straight, it isn't a bad idea to replace the tie rods and have the car aligned.
