I've created a monster: Help!!
« on: November 13, 2007, 08:18:54 PM »
Okay, car had no codes (1444) before I started working on it.  While replacing hoses, I disconnected the AFM, the fuel injector electrical connector down on that black plastic box under the manifold, and the electrical connector on the ICV.  I of course reconnected all of those on reassembly.

Now it idles fine, usually runs fine with good power, but it sometimes stumbles right off idle, and it'll die on return to closed throttle every single time.  And it's showing code 1215, air meter.  What should I do next?

make sure the AFM is clean, re-connected properly, etc.

Check the hose between the ICV and the manifold. That hose is exposed to deep vacuum and if you replaced it the new hose could be collapsing in on itself which cuts off air flow at idle.
Sold but not forgotten

This is whats wrong with your car.

well tjts, you were right, sorta.  I got a good night's sleep, and this morning looked again.  I had plugged in the air boot-four way hose properly, but it came undone while I was installing the airbox, and I was too fatigued and frustrated to notice it until this morning.

Plugged back in, car runs fine.  AFM issue was not related to this: what happened there was I hadn't plugged it in all the way and started it once in that condition.
