Where Can I Find A Good Floor Jack for Lowered Vehicles??????
« on: November 08, 2007, 01:39:01 PM »
I keep having to back my car onto some wooden blocks and then sneak the jack underneath. Does anyone know of a good Floorjack that would fit underneath a lowered M3??? I need one bad. Don't want to hassle with the stupid wooden blocks all the time  Thanks

Forget it. I am going to make a step system out of wood to raise it up enough to get the jack underneath. That is my only option without spending soooo much money on a floor jack.

My Ranger jack is a little less than 3" at minimum.

Pat, what model do you have. Is your car lowered? Does it clear the front spoiler when all the way under? I too am tired of using bricks or wood blocks everytime I want to jack it up.

My Ranger jack model is RFJ-2TX.  My car is not lowered...yet.  My car doesn't have a front spoiler...yet, so I'm probably not one to ask.  When I jack from the front, the middle of the jack body just comes in contact with the oil pan.  I usually jack from the side, under the frame crossmember.

I think some old civics ( I know, I know) came with lightweight low-profile folding scissor jacks. I have also found that I can pull up on the side of the car and lift it just high enough to clear the jack. It doesn't take much on a car this light.

For all that care I bought one and it is awesome. Really good reach and looks heavy duty. It is the American Forge and Foundry 2 Ton Low Rider Floor Jack. Got it from the Autobarn. If anyone is in the market check it out. Thought I would share the wealth.
