JB Racing flywheel swap trouble

This turned out not to be the bolt on as I tought.

First it start of that the JB flywheel has a dent. (as you may se on the pics)
I bought it from Turnermotorsport, and of course they clamed it did not leave them in that condition. Even though it was packed in bouble rapping and the carbord box was fine. Did not seem it had been opened in custom either.
I desided to try and use it anyway, since I don`t think it would make a difference.

More to go:
Since my car is built 03/90 it should have the twin mass flywheel, since they got them then, but now I realised this was not the case.
Even though I checked with 2 suppliers, and they confirmed after I gave them the vin number, that my car does have twin mass flywheel.
Now it seems I have to mount a clutch and pressureplate from a car with twin mass flywheel.

I don't understand why you can't use this flywheel. Is it a 228mm ? You can use a M20 clutch.
Is it a 215mm ? You can use a M42 non A/C clutch. If it is a 240mm, you can't use it. It should not matter what flywheel came with the car.

Off course, sorry. I can use the flywheel. the ring gear and bolts fits fine, but it is the pressureplate and clutch that won`t fit. As you can se on the last picture.

There is a company called clutchnet on the internet that will custom make you a clutch and pressure plate to your specific needs and they are reasonably priced as well. I got a stage 4 sprung 6 puck clutch off those guys for under 90 bucks.

I am pretty sure that there is an OEM BMW clutch and pressure plate that these flywheels use.

You probably know all this but just in case:

Your flywheel is the same as the M40 engine.

You need to buy a M42 clutch kit for dual mass flywheel which will include the pressure plate.

Your flywheel is held on with 25mm long bolts, the dual mass uses 50mm bolts, so you may need the longer bolts too.

You'll need a M20 clutch and an M50 pressure plate.

Sounds like your supplier is a load of rubbish as i wouldn't accept that flywheel as its meant to be perfectly balanced and that going to affect that.

Well that is what you get when you buy online. I don`t think custom or turnermotorsport will take the blame for the damage of the wheel, and I will probably have to pay 130 dollars in shipping to return it, And the little material of aluminium that is shifted will probably not make any differense.
I would not expect Turnermotorsport to send me a new wheel, but I think they could compensate with something.

I'm so glad i found a supplier in the UK for these as it took ages to get the right one for my car.

Neither JBRacing or Turnermotorsport would help me with the clutch
They did not even remove the US taxes as they should when they send it to another country. I`m not impressed with them.
I was going to buy more from TMS since they have some real nice things, but now I think not!

I've always found BMP Design to be true to their word and back their products with good customer service.
