I am about to attempt this ........
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated .

Easy job. Pull the boot, tighten both nuts to an even amount of tightness. Check to see how many "clicks" you have. Adjust both nuts evenly until you have 3 clicks. Job done.

I knew that already but isn't there some star bolts in the rear hub that you can adjust also ?

Yes. procedure in Bentley. I don't do it often enough to have it from memory. remove one lug nut in order to see star adjuster. Rotate lug hole 10 degrees from top toward back of car on both sides to see adjuster.

Thanks, I'll check the bible .I guess it's straight forward enough.

its easy, just use a long flathead screwdriver....oh, and the wheels turn differently between left and right wheels, so make sure you turn the star wheel correctly.

There is a specific procedure re: loosening the two bolts inside the car, then setting the star adjusters a certain way, then setting the bolts inside the car a certain way. That's why I referred the OP to Bentley.

It's all good. I followed the procedure on my M20 cabrio, and the damn thing still won't hold properly. Needs new shoes:(

Huh... any thoughts on what might cause the e-brake cable not to come out completely? I tried to replace mine, but I couldn't pull it all the way out and gave up. Just changed shoes, adjusted, and left it. I've done it on an e21 and itw as mugh easier, but much the same process and concept. The cable would come out about 1/2 way then feel like it got caught on something (so not rusted in place). Huh...

Also, is it just me or is the e21 parking brake much more powerful (I'm assuming its because the e21 uses the larger rear drums than the mini-drums *****ded in the disc brakes)?

I did the parking brake adjustment today. Very easy ,I just followed the bentley manual . I didn't adjust the nuts at the hand brake handle though.I just did the adjustment at the rear brakes ,turned the star bolts until the brakes started to grab then backed off 3 clicks. The handle now start to grab at the 3rd click and by 6 is holding tight.
