spanish pants 318 IS from spain
« on: November 01, 2007, 09:16:34 AM »
Hey All,

Just wanted to show you all my new 318 IS from Spain. Bought this a short while ago when i decided i needed a reliable daily driver that would be fun too.

It´s a 1990 with 161,000 km, air con, power windows, power mirrors, factory alarm and standard cloth interior.

Everyone seems to complain about how slow these cars are but i don´t have a complaint yet. But i would like to improve the performance a touch,so when i head off to Canada this weekend i´m going to pick up a MarkD chip, K&N panel filter and Z3 shifter (parts are cheaper in Canada in comparison to Spain)
And when i get back here i have some Ronal LS´s waiting for me.

Anyway less babble and here are some pictures.

Dang, you've got some really nice paint! i didn't know that any of these cars came with a factory alarm. Also, what is the knob that is recessed under the left side of the steering wheel?

For the first time in forever it seems, the Canadian dollar is worth more than the US dollar. You'll be gettin' over!

depending on how loaded the car is the knob is used to adjust the level of the headlights. i never bother to adjust it though.

it took long enough but unfortunately the majority of canadian retailers have not adjusted their prices. i think i´ll be ordering some things from south of the border.  anyone know where i can get the illuminated m shift knob and a good strut bar?

i like the analog clock. simple and probably less prone to going wonky on me. everyone here wants to change it over to the OBC, so lots of these clocks to be found. i may have to buy up a few and sell them, hehehe. old tech is the best tech, at least for me : )

Thats bad freaking ass!!! A site for a good strut bar? Haha the strut bar i want is the one on http://www.bavauto.com, the bavarian auto one with dual tubes its expensive but the nicest one ive ever seen for an E30. Also bavauto has shift knobs

It´s been a while since i last posted pics and the IS has gone through some changes since then.
-New 15x7 DForce LTW wheel with 225/50´s
-MTech I rear spoiler
-Front splitter
-Cloth sport seats
-Strut bar
I´ve also been replacing items on the motor as they break down or just preventative maintenace
-Coolant flush and all new cooling hoses
-Fan clutch
-Water pump
The timing chain sounds horrible, so next month it all gets replaced. Then i can begin to deal with all new suspension parts.
