Author Topic: Buying new Cat. Whats a good brand? Air hole or no? (Read 2492 times)

Alright its time to do this. Im looking at summit racing and jegs. Summit has a 2.25" in/out no air inlet 12.7" long Catco Universal cat for $56. are these dimentions right? I know its 2.25" in/out, but what about the length? Im having a shop weld in the cat, and i wanna spend no more than $200 for the whole thing.

Anyone have any imput on this?

No one has any imput? Im really curious about the air holes/tubes that some have.

I have a magnaflow on order from Summit right now. It was 67 I believe, but its for a single 3 inch exhaust. I just looked to see that it was gonna be something that would pass emissions type of deal, if that's the purpose, or is it more of a resonator type of product. That was what went through my mind when I looked for mine.

I didn't even know that some have air holes, but that doesn't seem to be a good idea to me. Any type of high-flow cat is probably the best, and make sure that you have it installed by a good shop. The previous owner of my car had one installed upside down and the welds are already rusty after only a year of use
