hey just picked up some side skirts for my 318is i payed $45 and got 3 center caps not to bad. but they are painted red and all scraped up. they are like a rubber so i don't want to put paint striper on them. so is there any other way besides sanding them by hand? i have some trim paint (satin black) that should work on them right?

pics below what side skirts are they?

Good question.  Mine were unpainted.  I prepped them using a scotch brite pad.

Tough call...I would say either some Mineral Spirits or Denatured Alcohol should get it off.  However, you need a coarse rag and lots of rubbing with those.  The strippers that do it all without much scrubbing are usually bad for the plastic.  You MIGHT try some JASCO stripper (though I can almost guarantee it will mess up the plastic), or some of this weird Orange-Citrus paint stripper stuff.
