Champion Plugs
« on: September 20, 2007, 09:39:30 PM »
Changed out all of my vacuum hoses and still had a surge/miss at 3500 and up. Pulled my plugs and they looked very good.....they were in the car when i bought it.  My local parts store only had champions so i replaced the plugs which were champions with new champions. Car ran great for a week and then started breaking down again.

Replaced them with autolites today and car is running awesome.  Plugs looked good when they came out but evidently there is a problem with champions.  Anyone care to weigh in on plug selection?

If the Autolites go, check the coils. Especially if the same cylinder(s) looks bad every time. I've never had a problem with Champions, even in a small block Chevy with 13-1 compression.

I have tried different plugs in mine and the one that seems to work the best is the Denso Iridium IK20. Little expensive but to me, well worth the money.
