Whats wrong with my car?
« on: August 30, 2007, 05:29:29 PM »
My car won't start and I dont know why. I changed the blower motor, and in the process disconnected the wires on the left side of the firewall in front of where the ecu lives. Im talking about the nut you take off.

At some point I forgot to disconnect the battery and one of the wires touched metal and sparked. After finishing I put everything back together, but the car just spins over, and sounds funny. Doesnt even think about firing at all. What did I fry?  The check engine light does not come on anymore either.

Anyone know whats wrong with it? Ran perfect before.

Fuses are all good.  The engine sounds much different than normal, like nothing is happening.  Check engine light definitely is not on, tried to pull codes and no light.  Thinking fried ECU.  Anyway to test it out, and is there a writeup for changing it?  WOuld my turner chip be fried too?

Sounds like the ECU is gone. All you have to do to remove it is disconnect the battery, open the glovebox, remove the plack plastic piece that covers the upper part (2 screws in front, 2 spring clips in back), unclip the connector, and unscrw the 4 nuts that clamp the ECU into place. The nuts don't need to be removed, just loosened. Good luck!

Well none of the relays in the fusebox seemed to control whats wrong with it.  Everything else works, just doesnt fire at all.

check if the coils are getting power. It really has to be something in the ignition system, so I think the coils would be a good place to start
