So technically as of today I am a 318is owner. But i take the car home tomorrow.
It is an alpine weiss II with black leather. Has only 102,xxx miles on it. The previous owner replaced a lot of parts, which i'm happy about.

I took a few pics with my cell phone, theyre not good, but i can't hold back the glee. I can't wait to dive into it and have it 100% perfect. I'll get some better pics tomorrow when i bring it home.

What it needs is a new tire, and another to be patched; a valve cover gasket, and i guess just a basic maintenance tune up. Oil change, filters, fluids. Runs pretty smooth, and the interior is cleaner than my previous 95' 325is. I'm so excited.

Are you positive that the interior is leather? I've not seen one that had real leather in it yet, but, then again, I've only actually laid hands on about 4 or 5...

thanks guys. Well i guess its not REAL leather, more like pleather, but damn not cloth, which i really dont like and which only comes in tan which i really really dont like.

So i drove the car home today. Theres a rattle from one of the cat's, sounds like whoever redid the exhaust accidentally dropped a bolt in there or something. I'm going to meiniki soon to check it out. (Or maybe someone could recommend me some place in north jersey). It also needs a valve cover gasket. Brakes feel OK, the guy replaced one of the brake lines cuz it cracked, and put new fluid in. Getting some 15's from a friend of mine, he used to have a red 318is.
Oh and it needs a wash and some detailing, but other than that i couldn't be happier. Handles very well; the guy put in Boge Sport shox and they feel very nice. I was thinking of doing the whole Bilstein Sports + H&R sport kit thing, but then it'll be too low and i'm very afraid for the oil pan. But at the same time i really want that lowered stance. I'll see.

Now off to the car wash and meiniki.

Could someone recommend me a place i could buy all the necessary parts i need to change the valve cover gasket? How easy is it? Should i change the spark plugs while i'm at it? How bout the spark wires?

I've never trusted any of those chain auto repair shops (i.e. any quik lubes, or muffler shops) enough to bring my car for anything to them. You should do the Bilsteins/H&R sports because it'll give it a nice drop but nothing too severe. I've got one of the most excessive drops without drop hats/coilovers and have never had a problem with my oil pan. AZ streets are pretty mild, except they're always under construction.

As for the VC gasket and spark plugs(always a good idea to change if you don't know when they last were) check out http://www.autohausaz.com They've got pretty good prices and if you order more than $50, shipping is free.

Yeah, those chains are a gamble. J_ _ _ y -Lube yanked part of the engine shroud off of the E36 to do the oil change and broke all the fasteners. Had to either duct tape it back or replace.

well this meiniki ive dealt with in the past. they did a custom exhaust for my volvo 740 turbo and i was happy with it. I'm planning on buying a high-flow cat and maybe a dynomax muffler and have them put it on. I really dont know of any other place by me taht does exhausts.

Do not go cheap on the muffler! I made the mistake of thinking a cheap turbo muffler would sound okay...boy was I wrong. I ended up using a high-flow cat and borla muffler ($85) that was installed at Meineke. It sounds 100% better without the ricer effect.
