Okay without investigating under the hood to see how the coil are wire I thought I go ahead and jump out there and post this question... Oh yeah sorry for using a truck as an example. On my 2002 Dodge Ram, when I was changing the plugs I noticed that the COP for each cylinder just had two wires leading to it which I assumed they lead to some computer that sequencially fire the plugs as it would if it had a distributor.
My question is: Are the coil on the M42 the same. One coil for each cylinder with a spark plug wire connecting the plug to the coil and the coild having some kind of wire from a computer to sequencially fire them. The reaso I ask this I think I found some COP that fits perfect for the M42 with a manufacture of the mount similar to the one on another post. Of course the purpose of it is to secure the COP in place. Now all I have to do is figure the wiring to the coil themselves.
If the stock coil have their own wiring for firing order then this will be simpler than I thought if not I need to figure out the process on wiring up the COP individually and maintain the firing order. so, all of you electrical "Guru" please jump in here and educate me. Because this COP fits great.
