Hello to all.

As I'm really into E30, I'm interested in everything.
I like to feel when a car has potention.
That's why I like to have a light car with a high reving 4 cilinder engine.
Just putting in a "big six" is too easy.

My cars:
I own a '90er 318i with a M40B18 under the hood.
The other is a 318i touring whitch my wive is driving.

The story:
As one of the bearings of the connectionrod were weared out, I have a spare engine of my little brother in the car until my engine was repaired.

He just had done the M40B18 > M42B18 conversion.
His engine has some upgrades that makes it really nice to drive.
From that moment every time I drove that car my M42 came closer.
The M40 is still laying in the back of the garage unrepaired.
But just next to it there is my M42. :)
Now I have to see when there is time and euro's to inspect and maybe replace the clutch, oilpan, and several gasgets.
Then it will be ready to go in.

So I'm now reading the whole forum (it's a lot)
If I can I will reply on a post, but first I stay a little low.;)

Some pics of my baby:

These cars are best friends ;)

And the touring

I had placed a loweringset springs and shock just the day before, but the springs seem to be for a sedan and make the touring look like there a lot of doggies in the trunk.
Now there is Intrax-Bilstein under it.

Gr,
Daan

Your car looks great! What front/rear valences are those? The skirts are IS pieces, right? What ever it is, the combination looks amazing :).

BTW APEX suspension sells a set of springs for the touring and they are similar to the H&R springs. Click here

Here are the springs themselves.

Welcome - nice cars! I visited the Netherlands in 2002. I just wandered aimlessly with no plans at all and it was wonderful! All on buses and trains with no trouble. I kept running into teenagers that sounded like they were from the suburbs of Dallas, Texas. Wonderful people! More piciuress of the cars there are always welcome, too.

Little update:

The M40 is dead...
I went to my dealer that's a real E30 specialist to show him the connectionrod.
He advised me not to go on with that piece, so I have to get an other one.
I will go to the scrapyard to take one of an other M40 engine.
Just throw away my M40 is no option because it has a new head with all parts and a very nice camshaft in it.
Now first the M42 will go in, and later I will fix the M40 for the touring.

@gearheadE30,
The front is the Mtech Aerodynamik.
It's very rare, but less wanted as MtechII.
The rear is a AC Scnitzer.
I had to searche the world for the exhausttip that belonges to it.
It's welded direct on de original silencer.
So cut off the endpipe, and after some trying it's on the right place.
It's the one with 2 holes, so nobody will see it's a 4 cilinder.
