ac no longer works and i never will use it any way i live in NS Canada. so its on a 1991 318is i looked right quick it looks too have a separate belt just for it so i think i can take it off. and scrap all the piping for it probably wont gain much but theres no need of having it there and it will be cleaner under the hood. so am i right in saying it can just come off with no troubles?

yes, it's not too hard to get it all out of there, won't cause any problems. The only thing you'll have to do is come up with another mount for the electric fan, as it currently mounts to the condenser (unless you're going to leave that there). I'd order at least the brackets from the dealer:

Perfect time for an aftermarket fan upgrade. That really cleans it up under the hood. It may not run that frequently up in the north.

ha up north its not that cold but its not that hot i just put the window down.

2 cents in. I removed the entire system out of my 1984 318i when i was knee deep in Xcrossing it definitely release some stress from the engine. Complete system including the condensor so no need to worry about mounting and if ended up selling the car you have every thing. I was in Washington state when I did this, like you said no need for A/C move to Maryland where it is needed had to re-install it, a good time to convert to R134 which is good. Yes, much cleaner under the hood then you can install dual fan if you ride it hard during Xcross.
