At the begining I wanted a Turbo, but I a Turbo Project cost a lot, and then I read some threads about Supercharged BMWs. And after I've read about the Downin Atlanta SCs ... everything was decided. So .. first few words about the car.
E30 318is MTech2 (Exteriour and Interiour). The car was absolutely stock. The Engine was in good shape. What I did so far:
New Brakediscs (original size).
Xenon HID 8000K
E36 Power Steering Wheel
Got a 3.73 LSD 25% from E30 325i
The ECU is MegaSquirt I V2.2 Extra
Innovate LC1 Wideband
Knock Alert Set (von Boris)

Now the SC.
The Supercharger is from Mini Cooper S .. it is EATON M45 (the same as DA)
I take the pulley from E36 IS before 94' and it fits just fine with the PowerSteering Pump and the Ratio with the Eaton is 2:1 .. so at 7000 rpm I will get the limit from the SC.
The Cooler is from Saab 2.3 Turbo.
The Injectors are from Corrado G60 (Bosch 280cc on 3bar)
I will use 2 Blitz BOVs ... I hope the intakepipes are not gonna blow

Clutch is Ceramic Stage 3

I hope I will get something like 180-200 hp, but for me is more imortant to get Torque. The Downin Atlanta Kits make over 250 NM, and got something like 160 NM on 1500 rpm.

what are you going to use for your intake if your piecing it together yourself?

The SC will act like a turbo. I will try without Bypass Valve. So the the Airway will be: Airfilter-SC-Cooler-Intakemanifold. The Problem with these system is that, when I shut off the TrottleBody, the intakepipes are gonna blow. That's why I will use 2 BOVs ...
The Idea of the Bypassvalve is to spare some Gasoline. For example, if we drive on part trottle, just cruising ... we don't need our SC on 100%, but only 30-40 ... so smaller amount of Air, smaller amount of fuel. (Economic).

I can help you.
First the DASC doesn't use the M45, but it use the eaton M62. If you don't have now the supercharger, don't buy a M45 and buy a M62. At same flow, the M62 will give it with minor boost, so minor heat, that with a eaton is a good thing. And if you buy a eaton from MB 230K (like mine) it will be smaller than a M45.
I need to know more about it for help you.
You will remove the intake manifold for a custom build, right? Maybe the injectors are a little small for 200hp, but you should open them more than 80& with you megasquirt.
How much is the pulley (diameter) in your M45?

PS: you can't use stock rubber intake pipe, it will blew... I know it for experience...

DASC uses M62 as its not intercooled, matt who's posted once or twice on here (appletree) has achieved 204bhp on the rollers with an M45 and emerald management, with a really strong torque curve throughout, demonstrating that the m45 is a good tool for the job. i'm so impressed by his setup, i'd have no concerns using an m45. His workmanship is superb, i'm totally in awe of his project, and the end results speak for themselves.
good luck with the project! i haven't forgot about your timing/maps etc, i've been snowed under and not even had time to sort out my own car let alone other peoples' stuff!

Wow, 160NM @ 1500rpm is a lot!
Makes me want to supercharge my car also

tim_s .. no problem. I've ordered the Knock Kit from Boris. With it I should make a good timing table.
DASC use M62 .. yes. But on their Project for E30 318is, they've used M45. It is smaller and it needs only 25hp. The heat problem will be with an Intercooler solved. I bought the SC already. As I said it is from Mini Cooper S.
I won't mount the SC on the manifold. I will use some brakets and it will be like Turbocharger. It will blow tha air through Pipes to an Intercooler. From the IC back to the Manifold. The Manifold will be the stock one. The Rubberinteka Pipe will be changed with Aluminium intake pipe or Samco Silikon Intake Pipe. I've read that the original will blow

The Pulleyratio is 2:1 (I can't tell you in mm, but I've messure it). So when the Engine goes with 7000 rpm, the SC will go with 14000, and from EATON give 14500 redline. I will rev my car to 6500, so it will be just perfect.
I've read something more about the bypass valve and I will use one. It will be from Saab 2.3 Turbo

. So I will have 1 Bypass and 2 BOVs. It will be very interessting for me, what will happen.
I have all parts, but I am waiting to go back to Bulgaria (I am student in Germany). This will be 30 July...until then, I will tune my MegaSquirt.

For those, who are wondering why I am not gonna put the SC instead of the Manifold ... the reason is because I will install an Turbo naxt year

good luck... we want see how much time will need this build:D I know that will be very long to reach a daily driver output, without belt problems, vacuuum and leaks!(and no idle problems...)

I'm sure that they will fit. The o-ring diameters are same than stock ones, the only problem is that if they are too shorter the fuel rail will lower too much and the fuel pressure regulator will touch the head...

Write the seller asking their full height, I'll may able to help you next more.
If you tell me the bosch part number I can tell you their flow... (the part number is 0280156xxx, last three digits are hidden in your pic!)

10x for the help, man! The last 3 digits are 280. The flow is 470cc on 3 bar. 14 Ohm. Now problem with the fuel press regulator, I got another one (not stock one)

... so it will be no problem.

Not yet. This is, what we should do ... the brackets and the piping. I will make a lot of pics, when we're so far.

Today I got the E36 belt. It fits perfect on the original Eaton Pulley. The only problem is, that it is a little bit short and we will have some problems with the position of the SC. I think it will fit between the powersteeringpump and the alternator.

Hi, about innovate lc1:
are you using the innovate LC-1 narrowband output for feeding the ECU?
Where have you "ground all grounds"?(

)
Innovate guy say: "ground where there is ECU ground (to the block)", but on mine the ecu doesn't ground there...:rolleyes:

I've tried to ground to the chassis under the steering wheel, but it send erratic readings to the ECU.
