Well, from what I know 318is didn't come with skirts nor M-tech bumpers, but I guess the original buyer of the car could opt for it.
I know for sure that 320is came with the full M-technic packet (front/rear bumpers, sideskirts, trunk lid spoiler, wide plastic stripes on doors and fenders)
The 320is was only available in europe thought…
P.S. I could post pics of a 320is if you like, it looks awesome ;)

Bumpers from cars manufactured before 87year 7month are not interchangeable with cars manufactured after that date…
You can also tell by the rear taillight: the older cars have smaller taillights and the newer have taller taillights; between these cars bumpers are not interchangeable
Also if the bumpers you are trying to fit come with plastic underskirts, then you would have to modify yours (standard underskirts are metal)
Otherwise they should be plug and play
Hope this helps
P.S. Also note that with the right attitude anything can fit anywhere ;)

In europe, IS side skirts were optional. I think they look very good, and cost about $350 all included iirc. Someone posted the parts awhile back. The pic was from Realoem.com.

Bumpers from '88 E30's were chrome diving board type ones.  They'll fit on our car, but then you would have chrome bumpers.  A set of plastics from an iX should fit our cars.

I believe that the only difference between the iX and the other "normal" E30's are that they have a sideskirt and wider fender flares.  An iS front lip spoiler should fit an iX.
