well im in a persuit to upgrade lighting on the beast (91 318is)
and ive been looking at everything from umnitza to abrahams and well none of their prices really make me want to buy ne thing
but i came accross this site

and well i thought to myself is that conversion really that easy?
if it is why doesnt everyone do it... or do they and im just way out of the know

I just did this --- it's very easy.  The best thing to do is buy new BMW connectors + wires for the headlights, solder some spade connectors (get 'em at Walmart) onto the ends, and plug 'em straight into your factory wiring harness.  No cutting required, no damage to your factory stuff, just plug 'n' play.

Do not buy adapters.

The adapters just go from one blade connector to another that is stuck in the plastic.

Take a small flathead screwdriver, put it into the little slots next to where the blades go in, and release the catch mechanism.
There is your blade connector.

Just toss the stock plastic into a drawer, or toss it period, I have no intention of going back.
