Hey guys... I know the thread below me has the H&R springs... and I'm aware of the bav auto springs, and of course eibach. What would ya'll recommend to go with Bilstein Sport Shocks? I'm after the slammed look. Just wanting to get rid of the awful fender gap, and the body roll, of course. Thanks Guys.

APEX suspension also makes some good springs with an agressive drop and decent ride.

I went with the Bilstein B12 BTK kit, it consists of Bilstein inverted monotube shock, and matched linear eibach springs.

It was in replacement of some crappy lowering springs (about 5cm lowering front, 4 back compared to stock), those sings where crap let me tell you, on the straight it felt nice and smooth, not bad in the corners, but when i had to park the car, or drive to the summer house it was a nightmare� the car bottomed out on the slightest ditch or pot, also parking was bad, as the front bumper scratched the sidewalk, and the rear muffler tip hit against a taller sidewalk also�
Don't listen to someone who tells that a progressive spring is somehow better, it's bullshit, it all depends on the suspension geometry, neither linear or progressive is better by itself, it depends on the suspension geometry.

Anyway, if you're going after the look, don't spend a lot of money, and choose depending on price as all lowering springs are stiffer, and feel better compared to stock.
If you're going after performance it's more difficult, do a lot of research, and choose what best fits you. I've read that the Sachs performance springs/shocks are good, but don't have any experience with them, also few people in uk had successful seasons in drifting with the Eibach Pro Street kit (It consists of inverted bilstein monotube dampers + springs, so I believe it's the same as the Bilstein B12 kit)

The Bilstein B12 / Eibach Pro Street lowers the car 3.5c/2.5cm front/back, but the car is fully drivable, can park near tall sidewalks, etc.

From personal experience I can say that the eibachs feel a tad "soft" on the straight for my liking, in the corners they are amazing, also what may be "soft" for one person may be just right for another� Also I'm running 15" tires, so this may be why they feel a bit soft

If you want to go for all out performance choose Ground Control or Ireland Engineering, or Bilstein B16 PSS9

If you're going just for the roll reduction, performance tires, and/or stiffer swaybars can do a lot more than springs

Thanks everyone for your help. I've decided to go with the Bilstein BTS-7511 kit. Seems to be a a good performer, and a good deal at that. Flying Brick has it for 669.00. Of course they say it won't fit... but bilstein does.... Hmm... I think i need to get some pics up. you guys might not believe what i paid for the car. Or maybe you will. I think it's not bad...lol. Anyway, forgive me for the horrible pic. I just took that right now. I'll wait for the sun to go down.... but you see what i mean about horrible fender gap?

i personally have vogtland setup with kybs and i love it im going to go to koni yellows soon but i love the springs, vogtland kick ass...

can you get some pics up of your car on vogtlands. anyone tried jstock springs from turner? i heard they were super stiff (too uncomfortable for DD). i always liked plain lowering springs over coilovers

jstock springs are super stiff, much stiffer than H&R race, or, for that matter, msot of the other options out there. They are a very dedicated racing spring. Test-drove a car up in Fort Wayne that had them, handled amazingly but had no give, even over curbs.

you hop curbs in lowered cars? ouch lol now that you say its a dedicated racing spring, im tossing that out the picture.

well what are my options for having a slammed look with plain springs? are coilovers or bags(even tho they wont be stiff) the only way to get that low? i like the look of h&r race and ie3s but i just want the front to be slammed

Well, hopping curbs isn't quite what I meant. I meant when going up my driveway, there is a ~6-8 inch sloped curb to drive over. My car, which is pretty low, has no problem, and it is about as low as is safe for this car IMO.

Having heavy front drop with little or no rear drop can lead to erratic handling at the limit, especially if the rear springs are stock and the front springs are stiff. Airbags are heavy and and are a good option if you want to raise the car to get over a speed bump. To lower that much, though, the suspension may need some geometry modifications. Coilovers are definitely the way to go, if you can afford them. Ground Control makes a very well-rated set.

Looking for some good suspension advice here for autox...
I have I.E. Stg. III springs & Bilstein shocks, OEM sway bars.
Urethane sub-frame bushings & trailing-arm bushings & RSM.

Here is what I would like from my car.
Less sway and stiffer a suspension for auto cross.
At my last autox the driver side front fender well came in contact a little with the tire while going into a quick positive camber turn. I'm sure the course set up at that turn had something to do with it.

Is anyone running the J-Stock set up from Turner?
Good/Bad/Ugly?
I'm not too concerned about my car being a dd with a very stiff suspension.
Also would like to know what sway bars people are finding great for autox? Suspension Technique?
What about the Vorshlag camber plates and front/rear strut bars?

I had a Spraco front strut bar, but it was rubbing on my intake and I had my intake Extrude Honed, so I don't want that to crack!

Your autox advice is greatly appreciated...I gottah beat this Honda Accord!
