what kit is this?
« on: June 20, 2007, 02:05:30 PM »
I recently installed the is lip and the car now looks funny or unportional b/c the lip hangs lower in the front vs. the sides and back.

What kit is this and who sells them?

thanks.

The rear is Mtech-II. google it ;). The only problem is that Mtechs have dual exhaust openings and it woun't look right on our cars without exhaust mods. As for the skirts, Reiger (iirc) made skirts like this awhile back, but I havn't seen them for awhile. Another good skirt option is the Euro IS skirt, look it up on realoem.com. e36 skirts can be fit with modification as well, but I don't think it is easy to do. Also, the fenders have been pulled to get the widebody look.

The MTech II kit came with a single exhaust space also. ;) Yesterday i've bought another E30 318iS '91 Lazur Blau with an MTech II front and rear bumper.

Picz. The blue one's paint is like, gone, it needs a respray badly. I've already scheduled it two weeks from now. The suspension and bushings are perfect, engine runs great, 190.000km on the clock.

the blue car looks like it has a different intake. Doesn't look like an E36 piece...

Also, I've never seen that front bumper before. It looks like the bumpstrip is Mtech with an Infinity lip or something on the bottom. Either way, you have two very nice E30s :)

I think that is a Reiger front lip on the blue car.

Thanks! The blue one is a stock 318iS with front MTech II bumper (no spoiler) and rear M II bumper. The silver one is an ex 316i with a 1.8iS from a '94 E36. :)

I used to own a 316I which i bought new back in 1989. I ordered it with Mtech II body kit. It has an opening for one pipe only. These body kits are quite difficult to find, because they are not available from BMW any longer (at least not here in europe) I bought two used Mtech II kits and one BBS kit about a month ago, just in case i need them. ;)

M40 1,6 engine was available from august 1988 till the end of production of E30 body. It has 102 hp. Also E36 had this. 1,6 engine was ment to the areas where car taxation is very high, like Greece, Denmark, Finland (where i live) etc. BTW those three countries are still ranked as the countries where car taxation is the highest in the world.
Carbed 1,6 engine belonged to M10 family.
316I was otherwise like 318I but it had a big clock in the place where usually is tachometer.
