It's a torx driver. iirc it is #20, but it might be a good idea to pick up a set at the hardware store.

I found the right size torx driver in my roomates toolbox, it wasn't labeled so I can't confirm the size but its in.

First impression is that it didn't do a damn thing. Possibly a bit smoother, maybe a little more torque up high but the butt dyno isn't registering any significant gains.

some Ebay chips are a rip off. unless you know what your looking for its hard to be sure because a lot of them arent mapped out right and just send a lot more gas to try and get more horsepower but makes fuel economy worse.

Yeah, I could feel a DEFINATE difference with my dinan chip,, the car feels more alive :) A mark D chip would blow me away I'm sure! From what I read they're the whole kit-n-kaboodle,, drop the 250 and sail like the wind :D

I found the ebay chip (mine was determined to be a copy of the dinan chip) marginally improved low end throttle response...

then again, I had AFM issues at the time, so...

I'd go with MarkD if anything, most of the other chips seem to make a questionable amount of difference. My car currently has an el cheapo Pro-Formance chip, but it runs rich and stumbles a bit at idle. I have the original chip as a comparison, but I haven't gotten around to checking for a difference.

How many of you would like one of my e30 318is chips?  I will be happy to run some sort of group buy.

How about:

5 to 9 orders = 10% off

10 to 19 orders: 15% off

more than 20 orders:  22% off the posted price!

It would run like this:  Order your chip from the site, quote this sale code:  M42CLUB-GB
and soon after the sale ends, I'll tally up how many sales came in and send the discounts.  I can also post every week how many orders arrived with the sale code so you have an idea where the discount is heading.

This group buy will run from now till July 5.

Should we start a thread in the group buy forum?

i only need a chip that car raise the rev limiter to 7200...
i do not wan't the chip to change fuel or anything else..smt-7 will manage these...

the problem is that i have heard that in m42 ecu the rev limiter is a crystal diode and not a chip... have you heard anything like that ?
