Hey fellas,

Wondering if anyone here is running the H&R Sports #50406 - the version for 325's / M3's?

I have seen the threads here on the #29664 springs - I'm looking to see the #50406's specifically.

I'd appreciate any links or pics!

I have them. so far I like them. If you want max drop they may not be for you. So far they seem stiff but not unbearable.

Info on spring rates in near impossible to come by, HR would not give up anything. I ended up buying a set from Bmp. I expecting more drop than I got, called BMP and spoke with a tech. He said that they had run lap times with the various springs and that he 50406 produced the best lap times.

Search under my name and should come up with a thread and it will give you the spring rates. I really like them so far but I haven't autox or spent track time with them. FWIW 50406 are sport springs for E30 M3, can't be bad?

I will take some pics if you like.

I have 50406's on my 325i E30, but I have no idea what they look like on a 318is... ?

Did you find the info on the spring rates? If not I will find it and send it to you. If I remember correctly the 50406 are quite a bit stiffer than 29664 that a lot of people run on our cars.

BMP offered to take the springs back if I wanted to trade or send them back but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried them. I figured they make a living at this stuff they should know??

Like I said earlier the drop wasn't what I expected but I want performance over looks so depending on what you are after they may not be what you are looking for.

I will work on getting you some pics.

Yeah, the rates are something like 180F / 360R, according to many many threads on all of the standard forums

Here are the pics of my car with the springs. The tires are 225 50 15 so the diameter is virtually the same as stock. The pics aren't the best but hopefully they give you a good idea of what the drop is.

I certainly like the slammed look sometimes... but I know that ride height doesn't make all the difference. From everything I read the H&R sports are a great spring for street use and autocross or even occasional HPDE use.
The H&R race would certainly give a larger drop and stiffer but I don;t see that as a good trade for true street use. Besides, I just scraped my oil pan last weekend with stock ride height (ie: 4x4).

Yeah, I didn't beleive it either but there is a nasty transition in one spot where you are crossing over a road. the drainage part of the road drops down and then the asphault of the road jumps back up. I figured it'd be no problem in this car and went over it at maybe 7mph instead of 3mph.
