I've had a bunch of cars before my M42 (e46 330i, mb 280 sport, 24v golf gti) ...I love my M42 most of all... they are truly special cars...

post pics and dive into our little forum!

Yeah... M42's are definately sweet!  Even after riding in/ driving newer BM's, you don't get quite as many sqeaks but the feeling is still not quite the same.  M42's are just something else...  Awesome!

Glad its not just me!  I have an E36, an E46 and the 318is.  I drive the E30 so much the battery in the E46 died and I had to put air in the tyres on the E36.  Pound for pound the E30 kicks a$$.

I hit 223,000 miles on the way down to Bimmerfest and didn't have any problems at all.

I assumed the strict regulations in s'pore wouldn't allow an engine transplant to the M42... So using the M40 as the base, you may get close to the M42 but still would lack certain characters of it...

My car came stock with the M40B18 engine before I threw that out and replaced it with the M42. It's so much different. The torque, the power, the response.

btw, are you greg?

yup, the strict laws prohibit such engine swaps... 'but'.....     ;)

nope, not Greg. Have heard of a Greg running an E30 locally, but i've never had the chance to meet him
