Power window trouble!
« on: April 29, 2007, 06:32:47 AM »
Hello all!
Im new to this forum and i have just bought a 318is. What a car! I love the E30! I'm having trouble with the power windows though and as it is getting hot in the uk i thought id better sort them out! The problem is, when i close both doors the windows don't seem to work although when 1 of the doors is open both windows work perfectly fine. If anyone can help me with this problem it would be much appreciated! Thanks

Harvy.

Do the windows work when either door is open, or is just one specific door that has to be open for them to work?

I haven't switched the window switches and i know its a really odd problem to have i don't know whats up with them!
It works when either door is open ak96ss.
Has anyone got a specific wiring diagram for the power windows? because i might be able to track the problem from there!

Seems odd that it was either door - I could see it being one door, but both?  Where was the wire at?

I know its a really odd problem to have! it was the wire in the electrical door pin thats just under the electrical plug connection for the door! i unscrewd the pin and found that part of the wire was stripped. so i took the speaker panel off in the drivers foot well, took the speaker out and looked up the panel using a torch! i had to change part of the wire! a very long job indeed!
