Finally got my suspension done, Pics inside
« on: April 05, 2006, 02:12:01 PM »
Well after a month of waiting for our huge suspension tech day to come up, it finally arrived and after a 12 hour day and 2 complete suspension swaps, I'm happy to say, well that I'm happy it's done.  I can't believe how absolutely blown my shocks were, you could literally compress them with a finger.  The set up I went with was Bilstein Sports, and the Eibach pro kit.  I know people rag on the pro kit for being too soft, but I got them for a smoking deal, and I'm not really concerned with building a track car just yet. That'll be later down the road.  And now onto the pictures...

Here's the car before we started working on it, stock ride height is absolutely horrible

massive wheel gap, front and rear

Just a few more...

All in all, the handling difference is night and day, I don't feel like i'm floating anymore.  Also I'd like some feedback on whether or not you like the flag on the car, my friend made that up for me in about half an hour, and it's looks pretty decent for not being professionally made.  I also need to take some pics later in a better place than my driveway, once it has completely settled.  It looks way better on a flat ground, but I had just washed my car, and it looked like it was going to rain, so I snapped a few, and that was that.

Thanks, it was 1.6" in the front, 1.4" in the rear, and believe me I'm worried about scraping my lip just pulling into my driveway

Looks good, not sure about the flag though. I like it, but something about it just doesnt seem right. Maybe if you could take more pics of the flag, we can get a better look at it. But the ride height is definately an improvement.

Yeah I'm kinda up in the air about it too, it's actually a little different than the real motorsport flag that it doesn't quite have the wave/billowing effect to it.  Here's a few more of it

Nice drop.

Are you planning to upgrade your wheels/tires?

I actually have some wheels for it already, but I've currently run out of the fundage right now, so those will be down the road a little bit, cause I gotta get spacers and tires, and those get pricey quick.

Cool. I'm sure it will look even better once your setup settles. Expect another 1/4" drop or so. Personally, I want my car at least a 1/2" lower than yours. I'm looking at IE stage 3's or at the very least Eibach sportlines. Regarding the flag, I just think it's too big. Making it smaller IMO, would make it more aesthetically pleasing.;)

Wow man, that car is lookin' good!!!  I personally could go a little lower, but I dunno...  I guess that's a pretty good drop, and I agree with GrippyDrifty that it will settle more over the next month or two as you drive it.

Must be nice to have a nice clean AZ car.  My car is a midwest rustbucket!
