hi can someone tell me whats the difference between the e30 318i standard control arm bush and the 325i item....apparently the part number for both the item are different too...assumed it was the same exept the m3 (offset caster) item...it would be helpfull if any of u guys can show me some pics of the 325i item....

A lot of BMW part numbers are superseded with time. Usually this is a euphemism for fixing a mistake. An "upgrade" means making something better that was sub-standard. BMA and the rest show one part number for all of the models except the M3.

they should be the same. go for the M3 ones though. I thought they made a nice improvement in feel and turn-in all by themselves.

Especially if your old ones are torn and your front end wobbles. Nice tight alignment makes it feel like a new car.

the e30 restoration bible says that there are two types
1)standard 318i - 31 12 9058 815
2)up-rated 325i - 31 12 9058 931

i was just curious cause i just changed mine to the full solid ones(non offsentric) and the ride seems to be quite harsh..but it did improve the steering feel and braking....i just want to know if anyone have used the 325i type mentioned above...

Part number 31 12 9058 931 isn't a solid bushing - per BavAuto.com's images. I bought mine from BavAuto and BMAParts.com and neither were completely solid. BavAuto.com shows a pic of a solid bushing for the E36.

thanks for the advice....got the pics and the design of the 325 ones are slightly different...the material used could be slightly harder too....here are the pics...the one on the top is standard 318i and the bottom is 325i uprated ones...
