I thought there was modification required to get both lows to stay on with the highs, but my car does it and i saw a stock e30 today that does it. so?

well if your car came w/ sealed beams then no it won't

Yeah, the sealed beams are dual fillament, so the lows are on all of the time.  When you convert to elips, you will need to jump pin 30 to pin 30 on the low and high beam relay to get the same setup.  Really easy to do.

mine came w/ sealed beams and both the fog lights and low beams would cut off when i switched high beams on, but I rigged the foglights so that they could come on w/ parking lights w/o headlights, and both the fogs and lows stay on w/ highs. if want more details just ask, i'll tell you what i did, it's very simple

I may have to play with mine.. Mine work like I like the jfdublyu's did.

I do not mind the ogs going of, but I would like both high and lows on at the same time.

that would be illegal.....the reason why the go off is because in the states you are not allowed to have more than 4 lights over 21W on at the same time.
I would check W/ your local laws though, here in california they are very strict about it and you could get a hefty fine.
