So that title could sound pretty bad and make a few of you guys laugh, but seriously.

After taking out my tranny with the gayed on pilot bearing, i notice the input shaft has a bit of play in it. anyone else have this problem? i need a trans.

Mine also has play but my tranny works just fine so I think it’s normal.

Depends on the amount.  Mine had a fair amount and it makes an annoying rattle when sitting in neutral with the clutch pedal up.  I think it is the input shaft bearing.  I could maybe see yours being a little hurt after the little removal nightmare!

mine rattles to and mine had a bit of play in it when i had my tranny out. i changed my pilot bearing, and my throwout bearing (because thats what i thought it was) but it didnt help.

hey try this to calm the rattle: when your sitting with the car idling and its in neutral, let the clutch out really slow, you can hear the shaft start to spin but if you do it just right it will be alot quiter.
