Hey Guys,

Just recently detailed the E30 for a fresh new look.  I tried some new products this time around.  Gave the entire car a light cut and polish for a start then finished if off with a high gloss protectant sealant.

The wheels aren't entirely clean.  It's been hard to give them a proper wash in these water restrictions so they are a little dull in comparision to the car but not much I can do unfortunately.  Finished it off with a nice window clean and now here it is.

The finish is quite nice for what it is, far more of a brilliant shine than I've ever reached before.  Either way, just thought I'd post some pics of the finished product.  Also, sorry for the poor quality images... they are phone camera pics... I am currently in the process of getting a nice digital camera to use in future!

i love blue e30s. we were suckered in the US without them. lovely car.

Someone in our car club has a lazerblau 325i with a glass moonroof.  So we have them here too, just rare.

Thanks for the kind words guys...  I was originally not looking at the lazurblau cars but found this one and the condition was too good to pass up so I bought it!

Yeah I was going to remove it about a year and a half ago and replace it with a black euro plate filler but it has definately grown on me and now not really one of my priorities to change it.

VERY clean ride man!  I wish I had the time to polish mine out like that!  What products did you use (assuming I can even get the same ones in the US).  I also wish we got the 318iS in Lazerblau!  Maybe someday when i can afford a repainting.......

The car was polished up by first applying a full layer of Meguire's Scratch - X before buffing each individual area one part at a time.  I then followed up with a coat of Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection coating the entire car, letting it dry for around 40 minutes and then buffing the entire car leaving a clean, shiny and smoothly finished paint.

For the money I think the results are extremely nice and seems to look far more shiny than my previous efforts of polishing with different products.  The guy who reccomended the combination of products to me uses the same combination on his stunning black E92 335i and it looks superb so I thought I'd give his method a try!

Your car looks great. Good job with the polish. they do look great when they are given some loving. Not much "tarting"required.

Are you in Melbourne or Sydney?
