The key to a good sound (IMO) is the resonator. It cuts down high frequencies, and keeps it from being "17-year-old-punk-kid-loud".

you got a problem with 17-year-old-punks? hahaha kiddin. Hey I'll tell you guys what I've been searching around and have only found some super expensive kits and mufflers alone (don't really know how to replace just the muffler) So I've cut out the cat :eek: and got it replaced with a mini muffler, gives it an ok sound but I'm looking for something low and rumble like. Coming from having a 1972 Monte Carlo with Summit Performance Dual Exhaust pipes, outfitting this guy with some low rumble? ...I dunno.

About the closest thing I have found is the magnaflow 11265. Theres a thread here somewhere (search "magnaflow exhaust") with a couple of vids from me and Alpine. A rumble will be difficult to get without cams or an LTW flywheel, but this exhaust has some nice overrun crackling on heel-toe downshifts .

I've got a magnaflow and the stock cat and resonator. I like the sound. Deep (for a 4 cylinder) and not tinny or raspy or too loud.

My muffler shop just cut off the old muffler after the final bend and welded on the Magnaflow and a double walled stainless tip.

Looks and sounds great for $175.

What's a Supersprint? about $600? How much better could it sound? 3 1/2 times better? I don't think so.

Oh, and I drive a cabrio, so if it's not too loud with no top, its going to be fine with a tintop.
