Author Topic: Tach needle sticking (Read 2840 times)

Over the past couple weeks the needle on the tach has started to stick. It has gotten progressivly worse and now almost always jumps up and down and often gets stuck in a position. What is the fix for this?

I get the same to except it is only first thing in the morning when it is cold. After a minute it is normal. I don't know if the batteries in the guage cluster need to be replaced but that is my only thought.

Same here, but it recently has gone perfect. May be related to the loom plugs at the back of the cluster.

I had the same problem with brand new sanyo lithium batters on the board, so I was able to rule that out.

It seemed to be esp bad in cold weather, but could it be the flywheel sensor? Since I did my rebuild, with new sensors etc the problem has completely abated, and it's been pretty cold.
