Euroweaves, tire question
« on: March 29, 2007, 03:57:51 PM »
To all the guys with Euroweaves (15x7), what size tires are you running? And to all the track guys, what kind of tire is a good balance between 3-4 events a year of DE and sporty driving on the street. I'm not looking for R-Compounds.

Running 205/55/V or Z15s. Have Potenza S03s (fabulous) and Toyo Proxes T1Rs (great value).

Have a look at:

How long do they last? They're only 200 treadwear, like the Azenis which I've been told don't last too long (5000 kms)

I only have about 1k on mine but im guessing around 10k, maybe more if your gentle. I only drive about 5-7k a year all together and I have 3 cars. The e30s do a good bit of sitting in the winter. But my M42 will be my main transportaion until my M50 swaps done.

10K!!! You must be doing track days. My two previous sets of S03s got @25K with treadwear 220. Still good for 130 miles on track thereafter!

Do you mean 25k Kilometers? If not, you must be driving like a granny or the Irish roads must be good to you. ;) I've had S-02's and S-03's(not on BMW's though) and barely went above 15k. I guess it would depend on the climate and conditions too. You guys have really green pastures out there right? :D

No miles! I have had one set on S02s and two sets of S03s, and I got about 24k up front and 26k behind on all them. To be fair, I do commute with the car so they wouldn't get too much of a pounding but, lets say, I do like by corners! One thing I don't do often is wheelspin as I believe this can seriously wear the tyres. Try to keep the car out of the green pastures!

the 10k was just a estimate from what i've read and reveiws from other people.  Im guessing ill get more than that due to the fact that I hardly ever "spin wheels" unless its in the rain even then I almost never do. I baby my cars, as lame as it sound its too expensive to beat them up. I do occasionally autocross my cars but maybe 5 or 6 times a year.

I keep my worn tyres for track days as driving hard on nearly new tyres murders them. I usually get 120-200 track miles before they are ready for the bin, however, I have spun and slit a tyre across its thread once. :(

205/55/15 Dunlop FM901s. I believe there are more than 25k kms on them.
