Hey all, I've been looking at upgrading my suspension parts, came across a set of steel control arms. Would installing these improve steering response?

The factory control arms are steel. Do you find aluminum ones?

I just bought these.
They are Meyle arms and powerflex bushings (I got offset ones).
I'll let you know how they install, they are a good price fom all my research...

If they are worn - yes. Use a large pair of channel lock pliers to test the ball joints to see if they are worn. Some other signs are instability at high speeds and during turns, wobbling sensation in the steering wheel and clunks on uneven surfaces.

lol my car has almost all of those signs. Will be changing out the arms as soon as I get some $$.

Also, is there a place that sells performance bushings for the suspension on our cars? There are quite a few bushings on my car that look circa 1991 :p

there are a ton of places that have performance bushing material... poly, delrin, etc.

A lot of folks have had good results with either E30 M3 or treehouse racing control arm bushings, stiffer motor mounts, stiffer subframe bushings, and the all-important reinforced rear shock mounts. BMWman91 has a poly diff bushing I think.

Anyway, replacing every bit of rubber under the car makes a huge difference.
