so today, i was able to burn a couple cars with my very mildly modded m42, a v6 stang and scion tc. however it was way too close for me and made start thinking about power adders, and turbos are always good however its like a no mans land out there although i looked so far into it back in november/december. but then i remebered my old 245glt+i volvo. 2.1 litre turbo 4 speed+od. i know it has never been done, but i figured a fully forged iron block , non interferance motor would be sick pushing the same 17psi the wagon pushed(i ran low 15's high 14's with only a boost controller...in a 600$ wagon!). does anyone have any thoughts on this, ive had good luck with the motor in a volvo however comma i dont know how it would work in the 318. thanks guys
-Max

Swapping a Volvo motor into an E30???  Blasphemy!

JK.

It might be hard since the Volvo motor was in a FWD car.  Gatta love the turbobricks though...some buddies had them in high school & we beat the hell out of them.

I think he is saying that he wants to turbo the M42 and make it sort of like the Volvo.

Aaaah...that makes more sense.  The turbo from those is probably good for a nice low-lag, low boost system.

The volvo use Garret t3 TBO313 for the 2,1L i guess its Comp A/R0,42 Eksost A/R0.48. The best choich is Garrets GT BB turbos for fast spool up. I have tuend a volvo 2,3 740 turbo (TB0363 same as dodge daytona TBO335) and
1 bar new IC and other stuff. Volvo = Bad road gripp but funn for drifling. BMW rules. I kiled a light pole whit the volvo ha ha.

The t3 i god for max 220hp on 1,8 1bar est.

no, the volvo isnt a fwd car...not sure where your citing your sources as the only ones i know of from 80's and early 90's was the 8series and 9 series....being fwd. im talking about swapping an entire 2.1b21 motor into the e30.
