Where can I find 2 3/4" OD tubing?
« on: March 11, 2007, 10:37:14 PM »
So, it is prettymuch non-existant seeming.  Since I have exhausted other resources, I will ask here...does anyone know where I can find some 2 3/4" OD, THIN walled tubing (max wall thickness of .125")?  Of course some 70mm OD tubing with a max wall of 3mm is fine as well.  Mild steel is the material.  The other crappy part is that I only need ~8" of tubing...I have a feeling I will end up with a lot of extra.  Anyway, thanks everyone!

Mild steel?  Based on that I assume aircraft material is not an option.

does it have to be mild steel?  What's the application?  2.75OD aluminum tube should be easy to find.  I have never seen 2.75OD steel tube.

I COULD use aluminum tube.  I am just far better at MIG welding mild steel than I am at TIG'ing aluminum.  Any good leads on some thin-wall AL tubing?

Awesome man.  They have all the AL stuff I could possibly need!

Just to put it out there, this is for a MAF-Airbox adapter I am working on.  I will probably end up building my own sensor tube & using the sensor element in it so it looks cleaner.
