ASK _____ ABOUT THE E30 318is
« on: March 29, 2006, 12:08:05 PM »
I thought it would be nice to get in touch with folks-in-the-know (besides us) to have a chance to field some questions about our cars.

A lot of folks are somewhat less internet savvy/addicted than us, so a Q+A type format might work better.

As you know, we have already gotten Don Duncan from GT Technic --he builds M42 powered GT3 cars-- to participate.

I have also written Mike Miller, a 318is 'alumni' who write the tech columns for Roundel, Bimmer, and European car, among others. Haven't heard back.

Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

My short list is something like this:

Don Duncan, GT Technic (he's in)
Mike Miller, BMWCCA Roundel (just wrote, no reply yet)
Brendan Purcell, 318is website (wrote to him awhile ago, no word)

haven't written, but maybe we should consider:

Jim Rowe (very talkative, knowledgeable, but more an M10/M20 guy)
Ray Korman (single handedly put BMW racing on the map here in the USA)
Will Turner (not really an m42 guy, but whatever)
Kermit Upton (a bmw builder, master fabricator, again, not very M42 specific)

more generally:

somebody from BMW (hey, you never know)
guys who are running their 318is on the track

anyway, you can see my list is short... so let's hear some suggestions and we'll get on it.
