HI

My nam is Pepe, im from Hungary.
Now i live in Spain since about a  year, im kind of world traveller.....
I have my E30 is an '89, about 2-3 years ago i have it...
I wanted this car since i was about 10years old, that time i remember all i knew about it, it was the new version of the shark bmwLOL
I wrote down a plan how im going to buy one, one day. I dont have the papper what i wrote the plan on, because it was 14years agoLOL
But i remember i will get one for myself... i bought it for 2200euro in Germany and used it for 2 year with a german reg. plate ( my cusin is a German citisen, that is how i could use it with his parmition) Now i have Spanish reg ( the plate on the pictures doesn't existe anymor)

I went with this car from Hungary to spain 2 times, and i whent to Germany and Ibiza.... Im using it for travel and as an every day car, i have only this vehicle. (in Hungary i have a Trabant cupe:D  SUPER LOL

Anyway i love the car and i like to fix the problems on it, i can't stand when it has some problem. I don't like to take it to a mechanic because they dont care as much is i do. But sometimes i have to example i dont have a garage and i have my standard jack an tools to repair so i do it in front of the hause..... this is the part when the neighburs are pissed sometimes, hehe

Things i have changed
suspension>
-Control arm/ busshes (m3)
-tie rods
-shock -front i have the stock one but a shock specialis rebuilded it and is now harder
-rear shock koni -40mm rebound
-brand new tires Dunlop sport f1
-sprigs H n R ( the solid ones) because i travell a lot
-rear wheel bearing ( im waiting for the front ones)
-sway bar ling front/rear
-sway bar bushes front

brakes
-front ate vented discs with ate pads
-rear is standard , i have changed the hand break pads

engine/t.mission/diff.....
-Engine is Fully factory nothing is upgreaded
-all gaskats i changed(profil, small/big oilpan, valves cover, oil filter housing, o rings........)
-t.stat/ watter pump
-temp sensors dme/guage
-coolant/ all hoses
-carbon filter/ prunge valve
-fuel pump
-fuel filter
-air filter IHHIHIHIHIHI
-spark plugs:rolleyes:
-the little thing in the allternador:confused:
-gear lube change in diff and transmission
-regular oil change
-timing stuff all guides, chan sprockets....  (bmw did this for me and they forgot a few part of the old rail guides "Spani", so this why i took the cover off and had a look in there plusz changed all the gaskets..., i realised everything was nearly new, but some pieces of the old rail guide was in the oil pan and it was blocking the oil circulation, i travelled about half of Europa with that thing in the engine...:p
her is a Thread about it... also i edited it and puted some "timing adjust made essy" links
http://www.m42club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1786
-oil pressure valve and piston

interrior
-si batery
-speaker cover front
-shift knob + some bushigs in shift linkage
-radio
-ocb light
-floor mats EHHHEHEEH
-vacum cleaning HAHA
-dealing with watter inside...

exterior
-home made fog light lens
-paint chips I dont have chip tuning but i have paint chips HAHA
-mirrors
-wipers blade HEHE

things i need to change

-AFM
-Cam sensor
-o2 sensor ( i have it a while ago, just waiting for the AFM i want to replace them in the same time, o2 sensor is functioning ok but ic looks like shit and verry old
-one front wheel bearing

Then i save some money for my trip because i want to go to Hungary in Maj, My grand ma's 80th birthday.  3000km to go then 3000km to come back it hink i will stay for a mounth. If you ask why im not taking the plane, its because i HATE it, i went to Australia 4 times 3xhours just to go there on the plane, i go there because my brother lives there. So for me... i dont take the plane until i dont have to cros the Ocean:D

Im not proud on the list a wrot about the things i have changed, but on travelling im kind with the car for sure, but daily im just not...:o
so i accept 10-20 years old things to fail, anyway its better to have some problems by the day you just crusing then on a long travell:)

so i post some pics... and i hope i don't sound stupid but this car is MY car ;)

If any body travells to Hungary or Sydney or Spain, let me know, i might have a place to stay!!!

nice clean ride.  Welcome to the board!

THANKS!

here is the home made fog light clear lens what i was talking about:)

1st of all, i don't think it does any improvement on the foglight, and i dont know how long it will works.
2nd i did this because had some rainy days, and my foglights didn't work at all, one of them had few wholes made by stones, and the other one had a BIG whole. they were russty and non functioning. So i didn't wanted to buy at  the moment and decided to try this out... i just puted them in...

i used plastic for the lens....its kind of stupid because i dont know how strong they are while driving
i did some picture and wanted to do a write up, but i think it would be better with glass and i just finished it so i still can't decide if its good or not. just strange
i painted the inside to black except the little chrom part behind the bulb.

please tell me what do you think about this....
even if its looks stupid, because i had BAD BAD foglights and i would buy some new ones anyway. I was just borred and try to do something.
basicly i always was wondering how would it look with clear foglight, they were broken so now i tought i should just see how its like.
I will have to put back the little covers for the screws to, here is a before and after pics

aloha

Where is the water problem? If it's up front, check the drain spout on the firewall. It looks like a flat elephant trunk hanging down! I twisted mine off and found the whole thing full of dirt. After cleaning it out, I had no water under my floor mats.
