For the most part it is what it looks like...disassemble and follow all good practices when reassembling. You 100% need to get the head machined before reassembly, and the top deck on the block needs to be clean. Abrasives and whatnot are not recommended for the block, and honestly I'd pull the block and have it machined as well. You probably do not need to disassemble it if the cylinders and various oil/coolant openings are blocked.
The head will need inspection as well since it is known to crack between exhaust valves if it has overheated. Hopefully it is just the HG in your case.
