Intake air temperature sensor
« on: May 08, 2022, 10:03:37 AM »
Picked up a new aplinewhite E30 318iS with a CEL that the stomp test tells me is 1224. PO said there was an oiled air filter in there he took out (not sure if related) but i cannot find for the life of me how to test that sensor. I read on forums “the bently manual tells you how” but nobody elaborates and i do not have that manual. Is there anybody here that can tell me how to test it? As far as i can tell if its shot i will need a new AFM.

Thanks guys

The IAT thermistor is super easy to test. It should measure out to ~2kOhms at 25°C. You can check it by probing terminals 4 & 5 on the AFM.
