Do those plates say E30 FTW?  If so that's just awesome.

whoops!

I hope you guys aren't mad at me for immediately damaging a nice m42! :p  I swapped my SpecE30 stuff over to this car last week and made it to VIR over the weekend. I was really working on T3, spun once there saturday, spun again sunday and ended up with some light contact with a tire wall. No real harm, just a bit wrinkled up on that whole side. I'll bang it out.

But the main part is that the car passed its first track event, survived quite well! I found the subframe bushings were a bit squishy when I was swapping everything over, and sure enough, it was pretty tail happy. :D I might go ahead with a SpecE30 build. We'll see if I can afford it. :o

It weighs right at 2500 without me in it right now, crossweight is a bit off with me in, but I think I'll be able to get that out with some different spring pads. Got a long way to go to get to 2600 with driver and cage!

This is why my car hasn't seen a track yet...

good luck w/ repairs, a really big hammer should do the trick ;)

Well - the rule is if you can't afford any fixes or the unexpected, don't take it on the track. :)
I'd rather deal with an e30 than any other bimmer variant which I consider to be "trackable" (i.e 2002, e36, e34) as the e30 is readily replaceable at a lower cost

I had to put 180 pounds of brake rotors in my trunk and fill the tank to get to 2500 with me in the car.  Man I've got a long way to go to catch up to you.  ;)

e9nine-money is exactly the reason. My M42 is my first car, and stupid drivers in the high school parking lot are hard enough on it :(

Monetary loss isn't all that goes down the drain...
