Per what I can find the spring rates are 172 lbs/in front & 300 lbs/in rear probably an inch or inch and a half lower than stock with a nice rake. Sway bars are from Ireland Engineering, no camber plates.

Last weekend I had the car up on a dynocom dyno, at none other than JakeB's from classicdaily (of M42 turbo kit fame). I did a couple back to back runs with the metric mechanic tune and the sssquid tune. The sssquid tune has a little more power and more consistent top end. Best run of the day was good for 141hp at the wheels. The dynocom dynos are supposed to be 10-20% low compared to a dynojet, if that's true it would work out to near 200hp at the crank. I'll get on a dynojet in the spring since i'm toying with the idea of doing some time trials with NASA next year.

Shout out to the guys at sssquid, they have been super helpful and are sending a tweaked tune based on the dyno data. They've been very responsive and easy to work with.

Green is MM run 1, Yellow is sssquid run 2:

Run2 for both, MM in blue, ssquid in red, I think this is the best comparison between the two:

Great numbers! I'm sure when you get some more miles on her she'll be even better.

Looks like the Ssquid is a better tune (smoother line... with no dips)

Been getting a lot of blow by off the valve cover and decided to install a catch can over the winter, just wrapped up the project today, here are a couple shots. Anyone else running one, where did you put your can?

I also replaced the upper intake gasket, had a little bit of a vacuum leak from when I installed the 24 lb injectors, hopefully the new gasket with a little grey RTV solves that problem.

Up next is installing oil temp/pressure senders and gauge, new tach overlay with M3 coding chip, then hopefully ready to come out of winter hibernation.

No big developments on the car, sensors installed and seem to be working. I sold my cayman and bought a new GTI rabbit as my daily driver. Took the car to Mid-Ohio already this year, another track day next weekend, followed by another weekend at Mid-O.

I spent Friday on the track and was really enjoying the car, here is a lap with a microphone on the back bumper to give you an idea what it sounds like:

Been doing a little work over the winter, the latest job, cleaning up the inside and removing the seats:

But why am I doing that? To get ready for the last VSR E30 Rollbar they'll ever make. I've always heard it has a great fit and was pleasantly surprised when I enquired about it, they had one in stock and they won't plan to make any more.

Hopefully some seats and proper harnesses for track work will follow.

Looks like I never put an update in, got the roll bar in and the seats installed, what a difference it makes on a track. Couple photos from the install and sitting in the paddock at my 1st event of the year with the local BMWCCA.

Bolted in:

Not much going on with the car, it's been a lot of fun but not getting driven as much this year due to events being cancelled. I was out at the track a few weeks ago. Here is my fast lap from the weekend but after watching Tim's video with ITBS I might need a set.

The only downside was I wore my rotor out and developed a crack so I had to pack it in early, I was kicking myself for not having a spare with me. All new brake parts ordered and I'll be doing a refresh in the off season.

On the plus side my student had a beautiful car.

No upgrades, just the stock set up, it's pretty good on track with good pads and fluid. I let them go too long and should have replaced the rotors at the start of the year. Consumables like brakes are pretty cheap on our cars. I got several years of 6-10 days of driving hard on a track, plus whatever street driving (including driving to tracks) I did.

I'm replacing front rotors, rebuilding calipers all around, new pads all around and refreshing the parking brake.

Brake job is done. I snapped a couple pictures along the way.

Replaced my roundel:

Old park brake components:

New park brake components:

Front brakes ready to go:

*Sunday update* also replaced my front bumper trim, the previous plastic got hit by something and broke the driver's side piece so I replaced both front pieces and the side marker lights today after washing the car.

How funny these small trim pieces which are still going up in price makes such a difference on cleaning up the car. Nicely done.
