ORIGINAL ECU chip - HELP
« on: April 13, 2020, 04:34:31 AM »
Hello,

I am looking for an original chip for my ECU, I installed one of those cheap “tuning” chips from ebay and my car didn’t run! Unfortunately I broke the original chip and I can’t run my car anymore.

Thank you!!

Sorry to hear about your chip dilemma.  I would just purchase an aftermarket chip now and be done with it unless you plan on modding the car and then burning one specific for your set up. You have choices....MarkD, Turner/Conforti, Midnight Tuning....I'm sure there are a couple more like eBay, which I hope you won't do again, but the 3 that I mentioned are the most trust worthy and in no particular order.

Good Luck!!

Cheers,
~Ralph

Personally, I recommend Sssquid Tuning. I have worked with them for multiple years now on reverse engineering the Motronic 1.7 (and believe me, nobody anywhere else on Earth has done it to the level we have), and it is my opinion that no other tuner knows the M42/M1.7 system better than them. Do NOT buy knock-off chips on eBay. Many are not even copies of the commercial ones that they claim to be.

Anyway, it looks like there is a stock one on eBay right now. No idea if it is good, but it's there.
