Many E30 parts. Getrag, M20 flywheel, M50B25NV, best offer!
« on: January 31, 2020, 01:53:49 PM »
I just tossed up a price, send offers my way, LMK what you think this stuff is worth. Delivery is available within say 200 miles of Pittsburgh, PA.  All my M42-specific stuff is here: (M42Club Parts For Sale)

The Getrag 240 has moderately high mileage(190K miles), but it's clean. SOLD

I also have a nice M20 single-mass flywheel from an older E28 528e, needs resurfaced, $100

Just pulled the M50 from an E34 rust bucket, it was worth the effort to save it from the scrapper. This is an early M50. Non-vanos motor with the thick M20-style valve stems from what I've been told. Great drop-in for the E30. While it's not nearly as much fun as a Downing Atlanta S/C or a Metric Mechanic crate motor, it's a good start for a build. More or less complete, it's only missing the coils and a few other bits. Includes wiring harness, DME, M50 intake, etc.. I'm told it can easily be stroked into an M50B30 hybrid by using an M54B30 reciprocating assembly (crank/rods/pistons). Delivery options are available, I'm looking for $500ish.

Lots of other general E30 stuff, pics are available here.
Let's not forget the E36 parts, pics are available here.

Thanks!

Good save! I hope someone utilizes it somewhere. I paid $1k for just the complete m42 engine not that long ago, this is a good deal.

These parts have sold, but I'll keep the pics up for you!

Delivery is available within a few hours' drive of Pittsburgh. I'd go further if your schedule is open. A few bucks for gas or a friendly beer would certainly be appreciated.

Yep, it's still here, complete and ready to install.

I'm slightly pessimistic about its condition. The motor definitely sat for a while, it has 190K miles, the cam gears are looking worn. My leakdown tester showed about 60% across all four cylinders. I didn't do a 'wet' test afterwards. Based on my experiences with old motors, compression will rebuild once the compression rings get a few heat cycles and some fresh oil. I felt it was worth saving instead of parting out. I will say that the engine appears to have been well taken care of. Spark plugs were recent, flywheel and clutch weren't abused, no crusty oil deposits in the cam boxes, head appears to be in excellent shape, no evidence of overheating, or oil pan damage.

If you're still interested, can I ask where you might want the engine delivered? COVID is making the near future look a little unpredictable...
