4.45 Diff - good idea?
« on: December 30, 2017, 09:48:14 PM »
Hi,

Just picked up a 4.45 diff for 10 bucks!

Thinking of pairing it with my M40 flywheel and Chip for my M42 (on stand, soon to be rebuilt)

Is 4.45 too short?

(The project is mainly for restoration purposes but will occasionally use it for various things like special events, hillclimb trackdays, some highway driving)

Cheers.

It will be fun for doughnuts or track days, not so much on the highway.

I thought a 4.10 was too short and went with a 3.90 lsd out of an early 318.

Might be good for a track car, on the highway I think it would suck.
