Surfing the internet and found this tidbit.
Not associated but I could go look at it if somebody wants an opinion on it.

I saw that one...Those certainly aren't OEM BMW parts, and that's not a grey market Federalized car. Note the Ricart plaque on the back. They're a big local dealer in Columbus, aren't they? If so, I wonder if they'd be willing to share some info about the car.

I wonder if that's a Callaway turbo, looks like it. Here's a genuine Callaway in an E24:

This thread on BFc contains a lot of excellent detail about these old turbo setups. It looks pretty crude, but I'd wager it's better than BMW's later M102 setup.

Such a questionable car...very tempting. Bone stock 4-speed manual 733i with a Callaway blower. I'll bet it's a complete handful to drive. Almost my kind of a deal. Alpina? Offset spoiler? :'(

It's back:

I'm very tempted. I still think it's a Calloway kit, but it does have a lot of the Euro goodies. If I sell something I'll be over to take a look.

Here's another one, seems pretty sketchy though:

I think he finally sold it. I didn't get a chance to check it out, unfortunately.

I loved the rescue story your brother posted about that car over on Bimmerforums. Great stuff!

Yeah it is a cool car. When he picked it up, he wasn't sure he could keep it/wanted such a project. But with a good entry price, he decided to keep it. It has come a long way for sure! I helped him swap the turbo and gave him the wastegate/intercooler he is using now. I was planning to take my 318is to the track day he (we) went to back in October until it blew the plastic coolant pipe so I settled for riding with him.

With his new turbo setup getting ironed out, we are both going to another track day next month, him in the callaway 6er and me in the 318is, now fixed of course.
