The light stays on.  When I press on the hand brake it goes off.  Is there an adjustment I could do to turn off this idiot light?

Could be that the e-brake cables have too much tension on them causing the e-brake lever to pull up off of the switch. Try to readjust the tension on the brake following the proper procedures.

But that won't stop the E-pads from cutting up the rotor drum and wearing out the pads. (4 pads at 10 bucks each)

I don't think they are dragging.  No noise coming from the rear.  Thanks for the help guys.  Now that the part job is done I can get back to working on the car.  Looking forward to the Is lip spoiler install.
