Ex-320is owner, had 3 S14B20 engines, love the 4 cylinders more!

It will not work. There are many reasons. The 2 big reasons are that the MAF output will not send the correct voltage to the DME, and that the MAF is too sensitive and will not send a steady voltage to the DME.

There are no simple solutions. I know because I built a fully working MAF conversion and it required me to design an entire embedded signal processing unit (circuit design, DSP controller programming, PCB design). There is no benefit to using a MAF. Even on my 2.1L M42, it makes zero additional power compared to the stock AFM.
