oil cooler
« on: September 22, 2015, 05:26:38 AM »
Hi

Looking for some information. Here in the uk i can only find one company who do a off the shelf take off plate for the m42. The only issue is i have the m44.

Does anybody know if the complete oil filter housing is interchangeable?

The take off i have found replaces the whole housing.

Cheers
Sion

Hi Sion

If you are referring to the oil filter housing, yes they are interchangeable between 42/44.
But there are a few ways of doing this

1. Flow and return off sump
2. Most common and does not require a pump is m42 oil filter then m20 oil cooler that comes with a cap that bolts straight to the filter housing.

Hope this helps Rohan

Reason I was asking rohan is theres a company who do a take off plate which replaces the housing. But for the m42. So i gathered if they are interchangeable then i can use this.

Another question i have. Are the caps interchangeable (im guessing not) they do a spin on take off plate which replaces the alloy m42 one but i have the plastic m44
